Joint and Spinal Mobilisation
This is a mechanical intervention used to mobilise joints to release tension and improve articulation. Unlike spinal manipulation, it does not involve a thrust. It is performed within a joint’s natural range of motion and can be controlled by the patient.
It complements soft tissue therapy to improve biomechanical function, makes movement easier and gradually improves range of motion. It is especially useful where pain is experience at a shortened range of motion - common in neck, mid and lower back pain (although can be experienced in any joint). It is effective when integrated with sports massage and neuromuscular therapies in treating back and neck pain, tension headaches and most dysfunction related to postural imbalances.
