SAVE THE DATE – 15th May 7pm
We spend a lot of time in gyms and studios, trying to get our bodies to do and be a certain way. Yet most of the time I find people have a very vague idea of what that ‘certain way’ is. Why are we doing things a certain way? Or why do we have to do things a certain way? I have always found that the ‘why’ of things can be a portal to better execution and therefore better results. If we understand why we’re doing something, we are likely to do it better.
And so comes along the idea for workshops on anatomy and mechanics, specifically to promote a better understanding of postural function/dysfunction and how this translates to muscular pain and injury that patients come in with everyday – why is your hip flexor causing back pain; why do you keep pulling your hamstring; why does your knee pain come and go for no reason; what do a tight neck and shoulders have to do with your breathing; etc etc. Just some of the issues/questions I get in clinic everyday.
Come and have all these questions and more, answered, and get an understanding of the mechanics underpinning it all, (with visuals of course!). As well as takeaways for postural maintenance, better breathing (yes, you’re probably doing even that wrong), and how to make your workouts more efficient. This is the first of what will hopefully be regular workshops, online for 90mins – 2hrs, on Thursday 15th of May at 7pm. Sign up under ‘Workshops’ on the booking page. 30-40 presentation and 45min + for questions. Will be keeping it small in order to get to as many questions as possible so limited availability at 20 spots. See you there!
A NEW THERAPIST ON SUNDAYS
A warm welcome to Rebecca who will be joining Sheree on the weekends and will be in on Sundays from the 9th of March.
Rebecca has three years practice under her sword holster (really!). We have been doing quite a bit of training toward a more integrated practice. She’s very excited to be joining us. See her full bio here.
And in the spirit of welcome, if you do get our emails, you’ll find a code for 20% off Rebecca’s first month throughout March, which can also be used to book with Sheree.
JUST FOR YOU
On the new resource page, you’ll find links to exercise videos I have frequently recommended and interesting podcasts/articles on health – physical and otherwise. Visit now to improve the quality of your daily walk (literally). If you don’t have a daily walk, you should! For those who have tried it so far, the first article on how to walk properly has made a big change to posture and strength. It’s all about walking taller, streghthening those glutes and lower abs. Walking correctly also improves gait and stride efficiency as explained (something I will talk about on the workshops). There is literally no reason to not try it!
